Purpose Of Our Project

  • To increase pupils’ interest in nature and to make them sensitive to the need for a “sustainable future”,
  • To educate pupils’ about the pollution of rivers and seas by chemicals and additives,
  • To develop feelings of European citizenship and raise consciousness about how pollution is a problem that challenges all of Europe,
  • To promote knowledge of European languages and to give students a chance to practice their English,
  • To meet peers from other countries and to let them see how ecological issues are dealt with around the world,
  • To encourage respect among students for different nationalities and cultures by enlarging the students’ cultural horizons and letting them understand that every society has its own complexities and diversities,
  • To actively involve local communities and especially the parents of the students involved, so that they understand the European dimension of environmental education,
  • To improve international understanding and cooperation for both students and their families, teachers and schools,
  • To expose students to cultural diversity by enabling them to see different cultures and countries,
  • To increase a specifically European environmental awareness in the local communities.
